Its Place in the Radio and Television Title List — Art. 26/1

Why Does This Title Exist?
Law No. 6112 imposes on broadcasting organisations the obligation to comply with the broadcasting principles and provides for administrative sanctions on breach. The broadcast review board is the structure that carries out the internal compliance review of the organisation. The Regulation recognises that duty as a separate title; but it does not give a job description.
The Condition of Working in the News Field — Art. 26/2-f
That provision also applies to the chair of the broadcast review board: even where the title is on the list, actually working in the news field is required.
The 2024 Amendment
By Article 6 of Presidential Decision No. 8624 published in the Official Gazette of 6/6/2024, No. 32568, the phrases “Private radio” in the heading and in the first and second paragraphs of Art. 26 were changed to “Radio”. By the same article, sub-paragraph (s) Photographer was added to Art. 26/1.
Conclusion
The chair of the broadcast review board is a title listed in the Press Card Regulation only in the radio and television list (Art. 26/1-c). It does not appear in the lists for newspapers, magazines, agencies, Anadolu Agency, TRT or internet news sites; at TRT the corresponding title is broadcast inspector. The Regulation gives no job description for the title, and the condition of working in the news field applies here too.
