First Address: The Public Prosecutor's Office
Art. 10 of Law No. 5187: the printer is obliged to deliver two signed copies of every kind of publication they print, on the day of distribution or publication, to the public prosecutor's office of the locality. A receipt is issued in return.

Second Address: The Regional Directorate and DES
Art. 15 of the Press Card Regulation sets a separate delivery condition for newspapers and magazines whose staff may be issued press cards: one copy of each published issue must be sent, within five days of publication at the latest, to the relevant regional directorate in the place of publication and uploaded to DES.

For News Agencies
Art. 16 of the Regulation sets a similar condition for news and photograph agencies: one copy of each issue of their work must be sent, within five days of publication at the latest, to the relevant regional directorate in the place of publication and transmitted electronically to the Directorate.

Keep Records
- Keep the receipts from the prosecutor's office in date order - the limitation period in Art. 26 runs from that date.
- Keep the courier or postal records of deliveries to the regional directorate.
- Take a screen capture or a confirmation printout of the DES uploads.
- An approved copy of the declaration and the receipt is required for a press card application (Reg. Art. 15/a).
A Third Duty: Legal Deposit
Summary
- There are two addresses: under Art. 10 the printer delivers two signed copies to the local prosecutor's office on the day of distribution.
- Under Art. 15 of the Press Card Regulation the publishing organisation sends one copy of each issue to the relevant regional directorate within five days and uploads it to DES.
- Neither substitutes for the other.
