The host officer is the official who accompanies members of the foreign press during their assignments in Turkey and provides hosting services.

Press Cards for Public Personnel — Art. 7/1-e
A press card may be given to public personnel working in public institutions and organisations that provide services in the media field and in the information services carried out by public institutions and organisations.
The definition of a public information officer (Art. 4/ğ): public personnel working in the State information services carried out by public institutions and organisations.
Press Cards for Foreign Media Members — Art. 7/1-c
A press card may be given to foreign media members acting on behalf of media organisations whose field of duty covers Turkey, and to foreign media members who come to Turkey for a temporary period for news purposes even though their field of duty does not cover Turkey.

The Field of Duty of the Directorate of Communications
Relations with the foreign press fall within the field of duty of the Directorate of Communications. We covered the organisation and service units of the Directorate in the organisation, duties and powers of the Directorate of Communications, and its regional directorates in the regional directorates of the Directorate of Communications.

Conclusion
The title of host officer does not appear in any title list of the Press Card Regulation. If the duty of hosting the foreign press is carried out within the scope of a State information service, the press card position of the officer is assessed under Art. 7/1-e (public personnel) and Art. 4/ğ (public information officer). The cards of foreign media members themselves fall within the scope of Art. 7/1-c.
