The Meaning of the Distinction
The Regulation gives no definition of either title. But the prefix “news” must be read together with the condition of working in the news field:
The Cameraman at TRT
The title of cameraman is not separately listed for TRT; instead Art. 25/1-ç lays down the following general provision: personnel of the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation charged with production and broadcasting within the scope of Law No. 2954 and Article 548 of the Presidential Decree No. 4 on the Organisation of Institutions and Organisations Attached to, Related to or Associated with Ministries and Other Institutions and Organisations.
Art. 25/2 (Added: Official Gazette 6/6/2024-32568-Presidential Decision 8624/5): no press card is given to those who do not work in the news field at the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation. We covered the detail in the titles eligible for a press card at TRT.
The Limits on the Use of Footage
Conclusion
The news cameraman and the cameraman are listed in separate sub-paragraphs in the radio-TV (Arts. 26/1-k and l) and internet news site (Arts. 27/1-o and p) lists. At news and photo agencies only the news cameraman appears, and at Anadolu Agency only the cameraman (with four grades). Neither is separately listed for newspapers, magazines and TRT.
