The Connection with the Page Layout Rules

In newspapers publishing official announcements, page layout is subject to numerical rules. Official Announcements and Advertisements Regulation Art. 40/2: in texts other than headlines and standfirsts, there must be at least 12 and at most 14 lines every 5 centimetres, and the letters must be no smaller than 8 points and no larger than 10 points.

Art. 40/1: it is compulsory that writing, pictures, photographs, graphics and the like relate to their texts and that the content be easily readable.

We covered the detail in page layout and point size rules in newspapers.

At Internet News Sites

Official Announcements and Advertisements Regulation Art. 62: internet news sites must take care over design and coding technique in line with technological developments, and must ensure that the content is understandable and that the visuals relate to the text. We covered the detail in design and coding requirements for internet news sites.

Conclusion

The art director is an alternative title listed in the Press Card Regulation in the same sub-paragraph as the page secretary and the designer graphic artist taking part in the news field. It is found at newspapers, magazines, fortnightly publications and internet news sites; the art director has been removed from that sub-paragraph in the news and photo agency list, and the sub-paragraph does not appear at all in the TRT and radio-TV lists.
